- I was at a conference. Students watched film on Eugene O'Neil with the sub and took notes on his life. Students were supposed to look for connections between "Ile" and the author's life.

- Sat in a circle and read the one act, "Ile" in the collections text book, pp. 47-59. We discussed the text as we went along.

- We had someone give their speech and we analyzed it together and talked about how to make our speeches more compelling.

- Those who brought their completed rough draft got to workshop with me on their speeches. The rest of the class continued working on their speeches.

- I showed a powerpoint presentation on persuasive writing, based on MLK's speech against the war in Vietnam. Students filled out a worksheet as we went along, asking them to tie the components of good persuasive writing in to their own topics. This is to prepare them for writing their own speeches next class period.

- Finish ALL RESEARCH for your topic so you are ready to WRITE on Thursday.
