May 6: Classwork and Assignments

In-Class:

• Journal: Write sentences for a list of commonly misused words
• We finished listening/watching the rest of the parodies.
• Students were given the first half of a speech by Ronald Reagan about the explosion of the Challenger.  They were asked to edit the speech for errors.
• When they were done finding the errors, I asked them to count them up and share with the class how many they found. Then, I announced the real number of errors (60+) and had them go back and look for more.
• After they did another read through and edit, we went over each of the errors as a class and students turned the assignment in.
